A new book about Che Guevara
|
The book, titled “O Che se vestiu de branco” (Che, dressed in white), was written by the Cuban journalist and writer José Antonio Fulgueiras, and it deals with Che Guevara and the Cuban brigade of doctors, and presents their medical experiences in Bolivia.
It was published on Wednesday in La Paz, the capital of Bolivia, in the presence of the Bolivian Minister of Health, Juan Carlos Calvimontes.
He praised the book and the Cuban medical brigade, and also talked about the importance of a doctor always preserving his/her humanism while working. He also said that a lot of Bolivians met a doctor for the first time in their lives and that doctor was almost always a Cuban one.

A visit in the Casa Museo del Che Guevara
|
Here is an article about the Casa Museo del Che Guevara, the museum in Alta Gracia, Argentina, that used to be Che's home when he was a child.
The article is in Spanish but if you don't speak the language, you can still enjoy the lovely photographs.

Documentary premiere in Tokyo
The Japanese documentary filmmaker, Kazuko Nisikawa's Cuba, Cuba, Cuba had its premiere in Tokyo, followed by a conversation with Dr Aleida Guevara March, Che Guevara's daughter.
The event, which was created to pay homage to the late Ernesto Che Guevara and the Cuban General Antonio Maceo (also known as The Bronze Titan), was organised by the Cuban Embassy in coordination with the Cervantes Institution and the Japanese director.
The film, produced and directed by Nishikawa, was filmed in Cuba in 2010 and it includes interviews with the representatives of Cuban arts, sports, culture and education, including Doctor Guevara, the singer Silvio Rodríguez, the musician Jesús "Chucho" Valdés, the retired runner, Ana Fidelia Quirot, the writer Zenel Paz and the painters Zaida del Rio and Nelson Domínguez. In the film also students and professors of the Cuban school Solidaridad con Panamá (Solidarity with Panama) spoke. (In Cuba this educational centre is famous for its dedication to children with different kinds of disability.)
During the event, held at the Cervantes Institution, the Cuban ambassador Marcos Rodríguez spoke about the historical coincidence that Ernesto Che Guevara and Antonio Maceo, two of the most important men in the history of Cuba, were both born on 14th June.
Dr Guevara is going to take part in a tour of several Japanese cities that contains conferences after the presentation of the Cuban documentary film.

Cuba Pays Tribute to Ernesto Che Guevara
|
The Cuban people is paying tribute today to Argentinean-Cuban guerrilla fighter Ernesto Che Guevara, marking his 86th birthday.
The Cuban people is paying tribute today to Argentinean-Cuban guerrilla fighter Ernesto Che Guevara, marking his 86th birthday. The central Cuban city of Santa Clara, liberated by troops led by Che in December 1958, is the main venue of activities that also evoke the birthday, 169 years ago, of the Cuban independence leader Antonio Maceo.
As a tradition, the day of tributes includes a march from the Maceo Park to the Memorial Complex that holds the remains of Che and his companions fallen in Bolivia.
Talks and morning assemblies at schools and workplaces of the territory are part of the activities for the anniversaries that include a scientific event entitled “Ernesto Che Guevara: paradigma posible,” at Felix Varela Pedagogical University.
