WHY DID I OPEN THIS WEBSITE?
~ In April 2013 I saw Che - El argentino and Che - El guerrillero, starring Benicio Del Toro and they immediately caught my attention and aroused my interest about Che Guevara. Otherwise I have always been interested in history, crucial historical events and exciting, brave heroes with a tragic life, especially in such an attractive package - no one can deny that Che was and still is one of the most handsome and charming men in the world.
I have read a dozen books about him (biographies, his diaries and some of his speeches) and I am completely enchanted by him, not only by the man and his adventurous life, but also his thoughts, his dreams and his deeds.
Here is a man, who faced human misery, poverty and prejudices when he was in his twenties, and he decided to fight against them. He did fight, not giving a single care about his strangling asthma, marching through mountains and hills, in rain and in heat, while curing the sick and always spending time on reading and studying. When the revolution wins, he works hard for making his dreams come true: he tries to revive the Cuban economy and keep it alive, to improve the health system and to eliminate illiteracy, in order to make it possible for everyone to get free medical help and to be able to go to university if they want to. He fought for the elimination of racial prejudices on all the areas of life and he spent his little free time on doing voluntary work and promoting it among the Cuban people. When the possibility arrived for him to help other peoples (Congo, Bolivia), he even gave up his comfortable home and living, the company of his beloved wife and children, in order to continue fighting in other countries. And he fought till the last moment of his life, always staying true to what he believed in.
I would love to introduce this wonderful man to everyone, that is why I decided to create this site.
I have got another reason as well. Honestly, I am really fed up with all those lies and negativity that have been being spread by American media and Miami Cubans - not mentioning all those misinformation and charges whose falseness anyone could notice if they had ever read Che's speeches or his diaries.
In South America, Africa and Asia, in oppressed countries, Che Guevara is considered to be a hero, a brave fighter, who fought for the independence of other countries and he was ready to sacrifice his own life for this cause. In Europe and North America, Che is the symbol of rebellion, but for most of the people he is simply "a racist mass murderer, who had the blood of thousands of innocent people on his hands". I am going to take all these charges one by one and refute them if I can - according to trustable sources and Che's own writings - in the module titled Charges and refutation.
No: Che was not a saint. He was just a man, with faults and mistakes, but I find it really unjust that even decades after his death, his name is still being soiled by lies, while his obvious good deeds are not admitted.
On this website I would love to show the real Che Guevara - with all his good and bad deeds. For me, he will always remain a true hero and example. A brave, selfless man with a huge heart, who sacrificed his own life and family happiness for other people, for the poor and the oppressed.

Ernesto Che Guevara, the Argentine-born revolutionary, minister, guerrilla leader and writer, received his medical degree in Buenos Aires, then played an essential part in the Cuban Revolution in liberating and rebuilding the country. He did his best to set up the Cuban economy, fought for the improvement of the education and the health system, the elimination of illiteracy and racial prejudice. He promoted voluntary work by his own example. He fought in the Congo and in Bolivia - he was thirty-nine years old, when he was trapped and executed by the joint American-Bolivian forces.
