1. The Motorcycle Diaries: Notes on a Latin American Journey / the original title is Notas de Viaje

[This is an interesting and exciting diary about his first journey in a lot of countries in South America, for which the 23-year-old Ernesto and one of his close friends, Alberto Granado started on an old motorcycle which died soon, so they had to continue the journey by all the means of transport they could obtain: on foot, by car, bus or ship. They visited a lot of countries, they admired the ruins of Macchu Picchu, they worked in a leprosarium and they had a lot of adventures. The film Motorcycle Diaries, starring Gael García Bernal, was based on this diary.]

2. Latin America Diaries: Otra Vez, or a Second Look at Latin America
[the other publication of the same book wears the title: Back on the Road (Otra Vez): A Journey Through Latin America]

[This diary describes Ernesto's second journey in South America with another friend of his - this time they left on train. This time he took an active part in the revolutionary and political work of the countries - that is why he had to move to Mexico. In the meanwhile he had a few jobs, he met his first wife, Cuban revolutionaries and Fidel Castro himself. The book also contains some of Ernesto's letters, articles and poems.]

3. Guerrilla Warfare

[This is the essential handbook of the guerrilla way of fighting - it has been a compulsory reading in a lot of armies. It desribes the equipment of the guerrilla, all the useful articles he could need, the different ways of fighting and making traps - everything with the largest details. Che also wrote about the role and the importance of the women in the revolution. In his eyes a female fighter is just as important and useful as a male one.]


4. Reminiscences of the Cuban Revolutionary War

[The book was based on Che's diaries, which he wrote during the years of the revolution between 1956 and 1959.
As the title suggests, the books presents some episodes about the most exciting and important moments of the revolution - like about the arrival at Cuba, the fights, the victories, the losses, the traitors and the friends.]



5. Diary of a Combatant: The Diary of the Revolution that Made Che Guevara a Legend

[This book was actually Che Guevara's diary that he wrote in the Sierra Maestra, and later he wrote Reminiscences of the Cuban Revolutionary War and some of his articles, based on this.]

6. Congo Diary

[This is the diary about Che Guevara's fights in the Congo, when between 1965 and 1966 he lived on the black continent and he fought for the Congo Revolution, with some Cuban guerrillas and local fighters. In his well-known, cruelly sincere style, he wrote about the events, the adventures, the disappointment and failures, the undisciplined and irresponsible behaviour of the African soldiers - but he also wrote about his own faults and mistakes.]


7. The Bolivian Diary

[This is the diary about Che Guevara's adventures in Bolivia that unfortunately ended in a tragic way: the united American and Bolivian army forces trapped Che and his remaining guerrillas and then they killed all the prisoners. (Only five guerrillas were able to escape and run to Chile.)
In this diary Che wrote about the year that he spent in Bolivia, planning his guerrilla war to set the country free, building the guerrilla network, facing hard work, victories and betrayals.]
